My name is Denis Aarons.
I’m the owner of Jose Street Auto Centre and have been since late 2003.
When I bought the business, Jose Street Auto Centre was a sleepy one man workshop operating under the Repco Repairer affiliation. Today Jose Street Auto Centre is completely independent and employs approximately 6 staff.
I like to think of JSAC as a pocket rocket. We are by no means large but we have a potent bite. We work to our limits, stay on top of the latest technologies, employ some of the latest equipment, have access to the latest information and employ extremely experienced and responsible staff meaning that no job is too difficult.
I operate my business governed by a few basic principals and list them in no particular order as they are all equally important.
Firstly I’m big on presentation, I hate working in a pig sty and I believe that if someone or some business can’t look after themselves, how can they look after someone else. For that reason every thing has it’s place, the workshop floor is always clean and excellent workshop health and safety procedures are paramount. Clean uniforms are a must and every car has a final inspection that I carry out personally to make sure that the car goes out as clean as it was when it came in.
This industry is a service based industry. To me that means that we have to be available to customers six days per week. We endeavour to accept emergency jobs on demand and that is the reason that we are open Saturday mornings where a lot of other workshops aren’t.
Being a service based industry, customer service and communication is crucial. I think that it’s very important that a client can always rely on speaking to the same person, someone who has a responsibility to each job, has an in depth mechanical knowledge and is available all of the time.
Personally I spend a lot of time in the office but also in the workshop. Overseeing the quality of workmanship, diagnosing complicated faults, directing the workshop and training the apprentices are few of my daily tasks. To guarantee the best customer service, even when I'm involved elsewhere, I employ a full time service advisor.
Dale Staines is my service advisor. Primarily it is his role to see to the needs of our clients and correspond throughout the process of all jobs. Dale is also responsible for quoting on jobs and sourcing quality products, from a large list of suppliers, at the best price for the customer.
When it comes to servicing and repairing cars, I won’t take short cuts. I have built this business up on quality repairs that are done with cost efficiency and longevity in mind. I have never intended on being the cheapest workshop nor the most expensive. I aim to be competitive and when value for money is the comparison with other establishments I believe that we will always excel.
Finally, I am here for the long haul. Customer satisfaction and longterm business relationships are my focus.
Denis Aarons.
